Onesie Work Experience

2010 - The year I began my journey with The-All-in-One-Company. A sixth form student at the time I was given an opportunity to take part in a photo shoot, modelling festival onesies – how exciting! These were a collection of all-in-ones and hoodies created using fab neon fabrics, glow in the dark embroidery and cool animal add-ons. To finish our outfits we all wore matching Huntington wellies and I’ll not forget how funny it was when I struggled to get them on. The photo shoot took place at Halo Photography studio where myself, Beth Johnston and Lauren Johnson spent a fantastic morning. It was a whole new experience pulling some crazy poses and we laughed all the way through. Onesies Festival onesies   Studying A-level textiles I was given a second fantastic opportunity to design all-in-one onesies. Following a brief I was to use my creative skills to design onesies – and the response was amazing. A collection of ‘Go Green’ onesies were generated from design ideas and they looked fab! The concept of the collection was based on an important environmental issue ‘save energy by wearing a onesie’ – with cool green fabrics mixed with animal prints and embroidered messages. The next stage was participating in a photoshoot to model the suits and I was asked to recruit sixth form boys to help out. The day was held at Halo Photography Studio in Northumberland – and what a good day. No need for the heating to be on when you’re wearing of these onesies!       Onesies Green Onesies       Wolf onesiesmade from snuggly fabrics based on children’s book ‘Where the Wild Things are’ was another photo shoot - us sixth formers spent such a good time in the studio.       Onesies Max Suits2011-07-20 10.50.33   Further photoshoots were modelling collection onesies to be launched in time for Christmas involving myself and four of my friends; Lauren O’shea, Beth Johnston, Katie Johnston and Rachel Dajoux. This was another fantastic opportunity to model a range of all-in-ones – made up of gorgeous fabrics, colours and prints. amys blog4 Summer 2012 I was invited to participate in a lifestyle photo shoot in Warkworth and asked to organise a group of friends who’d also take part – how exciting! I successfully found 11 models who were all looking forward and keen to know what the day would bring. We set off early, and eager to begin the shoot were the first ones there! The theme of the photo shoot was festivals and what a great location for a photo shoot. We spent the day in a field with Warkworth Castle as the back drop and had a fun day with tents, BBQ’s, Steve’s Land Rover and were there till dusk. It was such a good day and the results were even better, all thanks to Burns Rowatt Photography.   onesies festival   September arrived and I was now at university studying for a Fashion Marketing degree at Northumbria – and asked back by The All-in-One Company to take part in a lifestyle photography shoot. The shoot was spread across two days in Felton in a gorgeous log cabin surrounded with lovely scenery. We had loads of fun having picnics, bike riding around the lake, fishing, soaking in the hot tub, opening presents, lighting lanterns and fireworks and even had a Christmas feast! The night ended inside the log cabin warm and cosy in our onesies, playing games with lots of food and hot chocolate. The results again were fantastic, thanks to Rowatt Photography. onesies log cabin shoot On placement year at university I spent my time at The All-in-One Company and had a fab 6 months! My role give me experience across different areas such as designing all-in-ones, pattern cutting to marketing activities and I got to be part of a great work team. During my time on placement I took part in further studio photography shoots modelling new design developments which by the way are amazing and something to keep an eye out for! My journey with The All-in-One Company has been amazing but most of all an unforgettable experience I can take with me. With the help and kindness of Kate Dawson – director of the company I have gained a wonderful experience and owe a very big thank you too.
