All-in-one trendsetters & their bespoke designs

Posted on: 22/01/2014

We’re all guilty of keeping tabs on our favourite celebrities, whether that means we take note every time they are mentioned in the paper or we follow them on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram. Naturally, we like to see where they’ve been, who they’ve been talking to – and more importantly – what they’re wearing! Of course, there are some celebrities we tend to follow a little more closely when it comes to seeking fashion advice or style tips, and these are the trendsetters within the celebrity world itself. If Kate Moss can wear a grey t-shirt in three different ways then so can we, and if David Beckham can wear an Alice band then we certainly can, too. No matter how out-of-this-world or bizarre their fashions may seem, they have the ability to turn them into trends the moment they step outside for all to see. All hail the celebrity trendsetters, without whom we’d all be lost!

All this talk of celebrity trendsetters got us thinking here at the All-In-One HQ: what might happen if, at some point, one of our favourite celebrities were to wear one of our incredibly cosy, bespoke onesies? There’s no denying that the onesie has already become a famous trend around the world, but we wondered how these fashion gurus would put their twist on the all-in-one to make it their own. So, we chose three of our personal favourites and designed a unique onesie for each of them, all the while bearing in mind their own original styles…

Fearne Cotton

Fearne Cotton began her career as a children’s television presenter on a show called Diggit and back then wore different variations on the uninspiring theme of the show’s branded T-shirts. Still young and sporting a typical ‘90s hair-do and powdery make-up combo, Fearne wasn’t much of a style guru when she first hit our screens. It wasn’t until she aged a few years and moved to Radio One that she really found her fashion sense! Her style today is the perfect blend of rock-chick and comfy-chic as she mixes grungy boots with pretty day dresses and big knit cardigans. She has admitted in the past that when dressing for work she thinks only about being comfortable and ready for a hard day, which is why her outfits are sometimes a little messy (although we think she manages to pull off her look every time). If her main priority is to be comfy at work, we can certainly help…

Fearne Cotton Onesie

Designing a onesie for Fearne was great fun. We know she’s a fan of onesies, so we took into account her love of old-school rock and her need to feel comfortable at work to create an original, very cool and cosy all-in-one. We opted for the Max suit for Fearne as it is the ultimate cuddly and comfy all-in-one, ideal for her to snuggle up in at work or when she’s soothing her little boy, Rex. We chose the Hoot Red design in teal as the colours are similar to those she favours in her everyday outfits and the busy print reflects her manic lifestyle. We added cute little fox ears for fun and an all-important i-Pocket, because we know Fearne loves her music! We didn’t add a tail or mittens because as a woman who’s constantly on the go and with complicated broadcasting equipment to manage, we didn’t think she needed the hassle! We can imagine Fearne rocking this onesie, can you?

Ron Burgundy

It’s almost ten years since Ron Burgundy graced our screens for the very first time and we were introduced to his sharp ‘70s suits and questionable presenting skills. Ron has been loved and quoted ever since and we’re pretty sure he is more or less solely responsible for bringing the tailored suit back into fashion. We couldn’t be more excited that Ron is now back on the big screen in an Anchorman sequel and that Will Ferrell has been busily promoting the movie in character, because once again we have the chance to hear him serenade us on the jazz flute and surprise us with a new suit even more dapper than the last. Ron’s a great fan of burgundy, obviously, but also loves a colourful tie and smart jacket – not unlike many other news presenters today. We couldn’t wait to get started on his custom all-in-one!

Ron Burgundy Onesie

We could hardly use anything but burgundy for Ron’s signature onesie, so we chose the Plum Polar Fleece with Teal Polar Fleece pockets so add a splash of colour. Ron definitely didn’t need a hood getting in his way when live on air, but we couldn’t resist adding a tiger tail, similar to that of a panther, which we know he loves. Ron didn’t need mittens as he needs his hands free to shuffle through his papers, and we left the feet off because we’re sure he can find a fantastic pair of shoes to match his all-in-one! We personalised it further by including his name on the back in white italic writing, just to make sure everybody knows whose onsie they’re admiring…

The Duchess of Cambridge

We couldn’t have wished for a better wife for our future king. Kate’s got it all: the looks, the kind nature, the personality and the style. Did she know what a style icon she’d become when she first started dating Prince William? Kate never fails to impress with her flawless, effortless looks, always perfect for each occasion. The Duchess consistently manages to match her dress to her coat and her coat to her hat and never forgets to polish her shoes! Even before she met William, she was hitting the catwalk boasting not much more than beautiful skin and a dazzling smile, so it would seem this trendsetter was simply born that way. Of course, even princesses need comfy clothes, but so far we’ve seen that Kate’s casual clothes consist of figure-hugging jeans and heeled boots – that’s not comfy enough, Kate! We know Kate would love nothing more than to chill out with George and Will in a fleecy, soft all-in-one, which is why we’ve gone ahead and designed her one!

Kate Middleton Onesie

Kate spends so much of her time making public appearances and always looking her best that we thought she deserved a onesie that showed a little of her wild side. We chose our popular Snow Leopard design for Kate, complete with a cosy hood, should she want to shy away from the cameras. We also added detachable mittens, because while it’s important that she keeps her hands warm this winter, she might need to tend to George every now and then. We attached snugly feet, too, because we’re quite sure that Kate’s royal tootsies are tired of wearing heels every day and the soft fleece is bound to do them some good! The Duchess might not ever wear this out in public, but it’s nice to imagine that she’s relaxing in it behind closed doors…
