Onesie-MechanicMany people see onesies as novelty items or outfits designed exclusively for sleeping in, but that just isn’t the case. If you were to look around yourself over the course of the average day, how many all-in-one outfits do you suppose you’d spot? Just take a look at our rundown of five everyday all-in-ones you probably haven’t noticed before...

Mechanics’ overalls

When you take you car in for repair, what are the mechanics at your local garage normally wearing? They certainly aren’t strolling around in jeans and T-shirts, that’s for sure. Mechanics normally wear all-in-one overalls to cover up their everyday clothes, protecting them from oil stains and flammable sparks while keeping their skin away from sharp metal. While our onesies won’t keep you safe in a mechanic’s workshop, they share the same DNA as these practical garments!

Babygrows

Even if you’ve never bought a onesie for yourself, chances are you’ve worn one before now. Many parents choose to dress their tots in all-in-one sleepsuits as these garments are easy to clean, easy to get a tiny baby in and out of and good at keeping little children warm in the cold. There’s no point fussing with tiny booties, tops and trousers when an all-in-one outfit will more than suffice.

Wetsuits

Have you ever been on a surf holiday? Every year the beaches of Cornwall and Wales are crammed full of onesie-clad individuals taking to the waves in order to test their power, balance and timing against the forces of nature. All-in-one wetsuits help to prevent board rash and insulate surfers against the cold of the sea, but those tight neoprene garments are hardly comfortable or flattering! We’ll stick to our custom onesies instead, thanks all the same...

Dancers’ leotards

Dancing for too long in one of our fleecy custom onesies might make you a little hot under the collar, but professional dancers wouldn’t so much as attempt a single plié without a comfortable all-in-one to do so in. What are dancer’s leotards if not all-in-one outfits? Ok, so they may not come with sleeves or legs let alone booties, mittens and tails, but the basic concept is the same!

Formula One overalls

We’re moving from the world of ballet to the world of motorsports now, and yet another example of how the onesie has become an essential facet of many individual’s working lives. Motorsports drivers from the World Rally Championship to Formula One wear flame resistant all-in-one overalls when they take to the track, protecting them from fire and high temperatures in the event of a crash. Motorcycle riders take this one step further, donning leather all-in-ones that prevent road-rash should they come off at high speeds.

See? Onesies are all around us! If you don’t want to be left out of the action in future, take a look at our fantastic onesie builder and create a unique, bespoke design for yourself, a family member of a friend.
